  1. a public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of World War I (November 11) to honor US veterans and victims of all wars. It replaced Armistice Day in 1954.
  2. November 11
  3. A Brief History of Veterans Day. Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day, was originally set as a U.S. legal holiday to honor the end of World War I, which officially took place on November 11, 1918.
  4. Veterans Day is a time when Americans honor those who have served in the U.S. Military—a time to express gratitude to those who have made great sacrifices to preserve our freedom.
  5. That is why we should honor our veterans. They risked their lives so we, Americans, could live in a better country. For all our war troubles throughout history, we have depended on our soldiers to keep our country safe and free. They had to fight for their country, while also fighting for their lives.
8. I feel veterans day is a day to remember our members who served in the military before in any branch. I feel like veterans day should be a whole week because so many men died because of all the wars and deserve more then anything. My cousins is currently going to the marines and he will go through a really tough time during bootcamp
